Mississippi Avenue Street Fair

On July 15, 2012 Portland, Oregon celebrated the 11th Annual Mississippi Avenue Street Fair.  When we say "Wall to Wall" folks we aren't pulling you leg, or even your little finger.

The first photo here is taken from the north looking south toward Downtown Portland.  The last shot here is looking to the north...people and vendor tents as far as you can see in both directions.

Did I mention there were driving, parking, and "yes", walking problems!  It's was like the whole State of Oregon, along with the State of Mississippi converged on Mississippi Avenue.

There were over thirty bands performing all day on different sound stages. Great food, crafted adult beverages, over 250 vendors showcasing locally made art and crafts.

It is "Portland's largest street fair"!  I now believe them with all my heart...I may have doubted them for ten seconds before actually seeing it for myself, but no more!  It may even be one of the largest street fairs anywhere.

Both my wife and I had a super great hamburger at a place called the "Bar Bar"!  Cool place to go with a nice seating area inside and a great beer garden outside.

Would we go again...Yes!  OK! If there was no street fair on Mississippi Avenue... there is a  superb collection of cool shops, restaurants...you name it.  And, a big plus, it has a dedicated Macaroni and Cheese restaurant..."Mac! Mac & Cheesery"!
