End Of The Oregon Trail

Since I live in Oregon City, it's appropriate that I have a few photos of the "End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center". Oregon City was "the end of the Oregon trail for the pioneers who dared make the trip from the Missouri River to Oregon"...a 2000 mile rigorous trek.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of funds this once neat museum lies dormant. All the covered wagon covering blew off in a severe wind storm years ago and has not been replaced...it's just too expensive.

In the first photo, you can see the remaining covered wagon "bows" that arch over the museum, which is huge. The bows were certainly more impressive when they were covered.
