Sellwood, now called the Sellwood-Moreland Area is one of many cool neighborhoods in Portland.
I would consider Aurora, Oregon and the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood as the major antique sources in my area. I may get some flak over that but as far as I know, these two are the largest and among the finest.
I lived in Westmoreland as a teenager, which is now the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood for 5 years prior to going into the service and, then for about three years afterwords. At one time, Sellwood was known as a rough area.
This has changed over the years, the Sellwood-Moreland Area has undergone a major transformation. Young folks have moved into the area and have fixed up most of the dilapidated homes. And, one by one, cool businesses have infiltrated 13th avenue (the main drag) from start to finish.
This is the first of a series of photographs taken in the area. So, please stay tuned for more. Enjoy!
