Florence Oregon

Florence, Oregon is on the Central Oregon Coast. If you look on a Oregon map it is almost in a straight line from Eugene which is in the Willamette Valley.

Many places, on the Coast, like Florence are basically retirement communities. However, a lot of non-retiree type folks pour over from the Valley (Not to mention California) whenever, to take in the town.

Whatever direction you enter Florence from it looks like a combo of strip malls and service stations. If you whiz through the town you will miss "Old Town". Big mistake!

As you cross the bridge from the south, you'll want to take an immediate right and head on down to Old Town. Vice-versa, as you whiz through town coming from the north and, before you go over the bridge...turn left.

What's cool about Old Town, they have kind of kept much of the architectural theme from centuries gone by. If you didn't do anything else, like eat or shop...walk around and take in the architecture!

Now, that we have the architecture out of the way...there are many neat places to eat and drink in. All kinds of different food. My wife and I got happily involved with a cool chicken breast sandwich at the "Maple Street Grill". It was superbly prepared on Ciabatta bread with a very nice pasta salad to boot.

And, yes! The shopping experience is excellent...you name it...they have it!

None of the photos here are in any particular order. So, you will need to use your imagination and/or visit the place and identify things yourself!
