Small Cottages On The Oregon Coast

More pics of small cottages (cabins) on the Oregon Coast. Like the previous post dated August 7, 2014...I am featuring the unusual and colorful cottages of Neskowin.

I may be wrong, but pound for pound, some of the coolest cottages anywhere on the Oregon Coast. And, did I mention some of the neatest flower gardens going?

Many of the cottages have the same features and era...built maybe in the 30's, have cedar shake siding or T111, are not painted except for doors, shutters and window trim.

Some are completely painted. Most have been remodeled and most are in very good repair.

OK! Not everything here is a photo of a cottage...I cheat here and there. I included a pic of the famous "Proposal Rock" and a beach sign. Please enjoy!

The Cottages Of Neskowin Oregon

Neskowin, Oregon is on the Central Oregon Coast and just chuck full of cool old beach cottages. It's a small and homey community just north of Lincoln City and Cascade Head.

I walked almost every street in the old part of Neskowin to photograph many of these old cottages. Many have been there since the 1930's...maybe even before. Most have been remodeled over the years and are in great shape.

Beach weather is extremely hard on homes at the coast. Many have cedar siding, or shakes that are unpainted. They are accented with brightly painted doors and/or shutters.

There is a smattering of residual folks and of vacationers. I don't about now, but most owners were Willamette Valley people from Salem, or neighboring places when I was first stayed in Neskowin in the latter 70's.
