Yesterdays Memories - Tollen Farm

Tollen Farm is home to "Yesterday's Memories". It is a cool farm that is located in the country, in Wilsonville, Oregon.

It is a whimsical place...a mixture of home and garden decor, miniature donkeys, sheep, apples, filberts, plums, a llama, horses. All this is run by one person. Tollen Farm is open to the public each year from April through September.

I had the privilege of getting to run around with my camera and photographing most everything on the farm. It was rather expansive and I couldn't figure out how one person could run the whole thing with all the animals, orchards, gift shop. And, do it in grand style!

The image has been converted to a digital painting that I hope you enjoy. If you would like to explore this image, or others, please see links below!

Willamette Mission State Park

Willamette Mission State Park is located four miles north of Keizer, Oregon which is right next to Salem. It is a rather large park at 1680 acres and has miles and miles of hiking, equestrian and biking paths. It has eight miles of hiking trails.

It's located next to the Willamette River and has a tremendous history that many will find, they need to know more about.  At the north end of the Park is the Wheatland Ferry. The only way to get across the Willamette for miles.

The Park is the site of the first Native American Mission, founded in 1834 by Jason Lee.  This explains, too the  huge filbert and walnut orchards that are prevalent in the Park. And, other agricultural areas throughout.

The Willamette Mission Park can brag about having the largest Black Cottonwood Tree in the U.S. and it is 250 years old. Older than dirt!

In the second and third photos, you will see the "ghost structures", in the background of the original settlement.
