Hot Rod Cars

Here we go with some photos of hot rods and some other cool old cars and trucks. OK! Not all are hot rods...but all are cool old cars or trucks!

I take great pride in being a little different with my photography...I hope you enjoy it!

I sell prints, posters, throw pillows, phone covers, greeting cards through my own personal  photography website at: Thom Zehrfeld Fine Art!

Rebull The Hot Rod (Link) This cool hot rod was at the Oregon City, Oregon Car Show. It was a real crowd pleaser, drawing a lot of attention.

The Yellow Hot Rod (Link) Another fine automobile featured at the Oregon City, Oregon Car Show. It has a brilliant yellow finish and was well restored.

1949 Chevy Truck (Link) This is an old Flying A Service Station in Oregon (non-working). It is chuck full of memorabilia. Actually, the garage part of it is a motorcycle accessory outlet.

Tom's Electric (Link) Another cool vehicle at the Oregon City Car Show...beautifully restored.
Electric Edelbrock (Link) The inside of a muscle car with Edelbrock equipment. Edelbrock has been around since 1938.
The Red Hot Rod (Link) Maybe not a hot rod but just a gorgeous restored automobile.
USA1 (Link) One of the most detailed under-the-hood muscle cars I have ever seen

39 Ford Coupe (Link) Another beautifully restored classic Ford.
Dayton Ford Hot Rod (Link) Ready to rumble!

1927 Chevy Dirt Racer (Link) Caught in a museum in Oregon. Every part of this dirt racer is immaculate!
To order stuff...once again my website: Thom Zehrfeld Fine Art!(Link)

1936 Mercedes 540k Special Roadster

At the Mt Pleasant Cruise Car Show in Oregon City, Oregon, and parked next to the 1937 Cord that I featured in another post, was a 1936 Mercedes Benz 540k Special Roadster.

What's cool is the husband owns the Cord and his wife owns the Mercedes. Both cars are pristine and have to be seen to appreciate.  And, that's an understatement...both are very cool cars!

As with the Cord,  I converted the exposures to High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) using Photomatix Software and then finalizing them in Photoshop Elements.  Enjoy!

1937 Cord

Attended the Car Show-8th Annual Cruise to Mt. Pleasant School in Oregon City, Oregon. It is sponsored / hosted by Trick'n Racy Cars.

What's cool about the event, other than the neat cars, is that all proceeds go to benefit the students at Mt. Pleasant School.

So, here we go with a series of posts.  I'll start it off with the best...a 1937 White Cord.  For me one of the most beautiful cars ever produced...too bad it was made during the Depression and they just couldn't sell enough of them to keep them going.

We talked to the kindly gentleman that is the proud owner of the Cord and let me inside to photograph the dash. In order to do it right you have to sit in the rear seat...that was a little hard to do and really didn't want to mess up my welcome.

I told him that the photos should show up on Google...I hope they do and I hope that I gave his car just a tad bit of justice...what a beautiful car!

The final photos you see here are High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR).  "Tis not easy because I couldn't take automatic bracketed shots with people around. I shot one exposure at a time in Raw...made three different exposures in PSE and then converted then in Photomatix and then back to PSE for finalization.

Classic Cars

Classic Cars

Last summer, my wife and I went to Carlton, Oregon for their "Walk In The Park" festival. They featured some cool classic cars and I was fortunate to photography a few.

If you have never been to Carlton you are missing a major wine tasting place in Oregon's Wine Country. It's a quaint little town that you can easily spend the day in and have a ball.

All I had was my Nikon Point and Shoot but you'll get the idea. Please enjoy!

Old Cars In HDR | Well Trucks Too!

One of the most popular things about High Dynamic Photography (HDR) is photographing old cars and trucks. So here we go!

All the cars and trucks here were shot in a wrecking yard in Molalla, Oregon. When I say “shot” I mean shot. Leaners and more leaners.

The best part is the 1949 Ford photographed here had a price tag of $3400, plus change. OK!

I guess they are waiting for the poor guy that needs parts badly. Good luck!
