Tillamook Air Museum Last Fly Over

This is sadly the last post in respect to the all-to-cool aircraft at the Tillamook Air Museum.  I have absolutely no regrets for taking the time it took to photograph the planes...what a treat.

See my other posts @ these links: 1) Tillamook Air Museum  2) Fly Away To The Tillamook Air Museum  3)  Flaps Are Down - Tillamook Air Museum

The Museum has an absolutely gorgeous collection of World War Two, Korean War Era aircraft. And, of course, all other kinds.

The last pic here, that is outside the Museum, is a huge cargo plane shot from a different angle than the one posted earlier.  I wish I had photographed it a little closer up though.

(Update to this post 6/19/13) The museum is moving to Madras, Oregon which is located in Central Oregon. The move will happen by 2016. This is not a particularly bad thing. It's a better climate for the planes and the new location should get more visitors.

Flaps Are Down | Tillamook Air Museum

The Tillamook Air Museum in Oregon. is not the largest in the world, but has one of the best displays on the planet.

I hope one day you get the time to visit them. It's a cool way to spend a day!

Cleared To Land At The Tillamook Air Museum

The Tillamook Air Museum don't have just any "old-run-of-the mill" aircraft...they have super cool ones like the Navy's Vought F4U Corsair shown below!

The Corsair was one best fighters of  World War ll and saw action in the Korean War.  It's kind of an ornery looking thing with it's swept up wings.

(Update to this post 6/19/13) The museum is moving to Madras, Oregon which is located in Central Oregon. The move will happen by 2016. This is not a particularly bad thing. It's a better climate for the planes and the new location should get more visitors)

Fly Away To The Tillamook Air Museum

A visit to the Tillamook Air Museum on the Oregon Coast involves a real surprise and, well, a treat.  First, you might expect to find a museum of this caliber in a big metropolitan area like Portland, but not Tillamook.

Does this mean that Tillamook has all their ducks in a row or what?  Yes! And, they're ready to fly  off in formation.

This is Post Number Two of a series...See Post One Here! Enjoy!

Tillamook Air Museum

One of the finest aircraft museums in existence is the Tillamook Air Museum on the Oregon Coast. Of course, you have heard of Tillamook Cheese, but maybe not of the Air Museum.

The Museum is a little south of Tillamook off Highway 101. There are many things to visit in Tillamook including the Cheese Factory, Blue Heron French Cheese Factory, Cape Meares, Munson Creek Falls, Tillamook Forest Center and of course, the Air Museum.

The aircraft are housed in an old World War Two Blimp Hangar which just happens to be the largest wooden structure in the world. Seeing is believing...it's absolutely huge!

I photographed almost every aircraft in the Museum so there will be more posts coming up. See Post Number Two Here (link)!
