Garibaldi

Garibaldi is on the Oregon Coast and, is a small fishing village nestled against a hillside at the northern end of Tillamook Bay.

And, yes this coastal town is named after Giuseppe Garibaldi who unified Italy in 1870. The person that named the town was impressed with Mr. Garibaldi.

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures, and then incorporating the results into a digital painting.

Train Depot Art

This is a cool little railroad station in Garibaldi, Oregon on the Northern Oregon Coast.

The railroad station is one of the stops for the "Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad". Other stops include:  Tillamook, Rockaway Beach, Wheeler, Nehalem Bay, and Salmonberry, Oregon.

During the late spring and summer months you can ride the rail behind a historic, nostalgic, old-fashioned Steam Locomotive. This scenic trip chugs along Tillamook Bay and gives you a nice view of the Bay and the ocean.

All Aboard The Old Excursion Railroad Car!

Get ready to board this open sided excursion railroad car! Probably a rail car that goes back many decades and, that has boarded thousands and thousands on scenic trips.

This particular car was found on the Oregon Coast in Tillamook. Yes, the place where they make cheese and, all the cows are happy cows!

Since the excursion car was found on the coast, tells me, since it is close, that it was once in use in Garibaldi, Oregon on scenic railroad tours along Tillamook Bay and also into the Nehalem Valley.

So, grab a picnic lunch and amble down the tracks as the locomotive winds along Tillamook Bay, or into Nehalem Valley while you take in all the beautiful scenery!

Although, you might have to use your imagination a bit here with this old excursion car.
