Retro Ford - Classic American Hot Rod

A shiny red retro Ford hot rod car is displayed against a bright yellow background.

The hood is open, showcasing the vehicle's power under the hood!

The front end has been modified to accommodate a huge engine...almost dragster like.

This is one of the fine, classic and vintage Ford automobiles featured in a car show in Carson City, Nevada!

Cruisin' In A 1946 Austin-The Mouse Trap!

This is a 1946 Austin converted to a hot rod and, restored to perfection. You can bet it can tear up a drag strip.

The car is called the "Mouse Trap"! Maybe the owner was thinking, "I can build a better mouse trap and catch some unsuspecting mice!"  The Austin automobile was produced basically from 1938 to 1948.

Three different exposures were taken of the "Mouse Trap" and then converted to a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image. The final image was then converted to a digital painting!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases! Please see the link below this image!

1929 Model A Ford Hot Rod

The Ford Model A, along with other models, were produced from 1928 to 1931. It followed the highly successful Model T which was in production for some eighteen years.

They sold for $385!  Wouldn't it be nice to purchase a brand new car, today for $385?

Between Model Ts and "As", many subsequent purchasers of these great and classic cars have converted them into hot rods. Some bought them in deplorable condition and restored them to perfection.

This Model A Ford Roadster hot rod is a good example of a restored "A". It has beautiful turquoise paint with gold, yellow, white detail.

The image has been converted to a digital painting that I hope you enjoy. If you would like to explore this image, or others, please see links below!

Under The Hood!

This is someone who decided to get very patriotic with things "under the hood"! Not only is there a tremendous amount of beautiful detail work and paint, it looks like this muscle car could eat a few so-called "hot cars" along the way!

Just guessing, but you could look under the hoods of thousands and thousands of automobiles and, hot rods and not come up with one as detailed and beautiful as this "under the hood' job! Just an absolutely gorgeous job! And, it is aptly named USA-1.

The image has been converted to a digital Impressionist painting that I hope you enjoy. If you would like to explore this image, or others, please see link below the image!

If you are a car buff you have come to the right place! I have included all type of cars, hot rods, classic cars.

On my website I have many more cars and trucks than what you will see below but, this will give you some idea of what my car prints are like. And, I try to be a little different in the way I present them.

You can purchase prints (in a variety of form) from my Thom Zehrfeld Artist Website. I have provided links under each photo here so you can chose an appropriate format, for example:

 1. Canvas Prints
 2. Framed Prints
 3. Art Prints
 4. Acrylic Prints
 5. Metal Prints
 6. Greeting Cards
 7. i Phone Cases
 8. Galaxy Cases
 9. Throw Pillows
10. Duvet Covers
11. Tote Bags

As you can see there is a lot of variety in which to choose from and, for every budget level

Let's get started:

This is an old 1949 Chevy Truck sitting at a vintage Flying A Service Station in an Oregon town close to Portland! The pickup is absolutely pristine...very much like the exterior and interior of the station. Inside is lots of memorabilia featuring a simpler time!

Are we rearing to go down the road with this cool old 57 Buick Coupe? Strapped on is a matching canoe...how neat is that?

Captured at the Oregon City, Oregon Auto Show, "Rebull The Hot Rod" is just begging to race, whoever, whatever wants to race em'!

A-Bone is the colloquial term for Ford's Model A. The one photographed here has been extremely modified. The Model A was extremely popular after the Model T.

An classic 1938 Ford Convertible!  A patriotic scene...and not staged with the American Flag proudly displayed on this old vintage car. Closer inspection of the Ford will yield a car for parts and not one that has been restored.

This is just a beautiful hot rod sitting on a side street in Oregon City, Oregon! Actually, it might be more accurate to say an antique car that has been restored to original condition.

This is an old, I believe 1958 Ford Edsel Ranger...not a very popular car when it was manufactured. Now days it is extremely popular if you can find one! This one was found on a farm in Molalla,Oregon. Three different exposures were taken of the Edsel, processed through special software and converted to High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) which brings out more dynamics in a photo...closer to what the eyes perceive.

The DeSoto was traditionally priced between a Plymouth and a Chrysler. De Soto had been given a cool, more modern-looking design for the 1932 model year...resembling a Miller Racing car especially grill-wise.

The 1936 Cord automobile is a milestone in automotive design and engineering. One of the most beautiful cars on the planet irregardless of year or make.

Model T Fords are very popular with hot rodders. This is what rodders call a "T Bucket"! Basically a two seater roadster.

Old Car Pictures - Some Old Duffers!

I'll admit it...I'm older than dirt. But, I experienced a time that: when it was payday, even with a modest income, you could go out and buy a car, pay your rent and still afford to eat until the next payday.

Maybe you couldn't afford to buy a new car on payday but, you could buy a pretty decent running car for fifty bucks.  Those days are toast!

Some of the old cars that are pictured here you could have gotten for a song in the old days.  Not now, dude!

These are some shots from the "Cruise to Downtown Car Show" in Oregon City, Oregon. There was an assortment of classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods and one cool Panoz and then, whatever.
