Center For Wooden Boats Seattle

When visiting Seattle, Washington one of the things you need to do is visit “The Center For Wooden Boats”! It is located on South Union Lake and is fairly close to the downtown area.

It was founded in the 1970's, contains a museum and, is dedicated in traditional boat education for people of all ages. There are more than 170 vessels that are mainly small sailboats and rowboats.

Center For Wooden Boats Seattle (LINK) Above is the "Lotus",  a yacht moored in The Center For Wooden Boats (CWB). The Lotus was built in 1909 and was the largest private yacht on the West Coast at that time. She also possessed all the latest amenities of the time: electric lighting and even a state-of-the-art intercom system. Presently, you can reserve the Lotus for weddings and parties. Bi-Plane Artworks

This very cool Bi-Plane is on display at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.

The museum displays a huge number of military and civilian aircraft and spacecraft...of note, the Hughes H-4 Hercules "Spruce Goose". You do not realize how big of an aircraft it is until you see it in person.

This particular Bi-Plane caught my eye because of its obvious pristine condition....although, most in the museum are also in immaculate condition like this one.

Old Bus Art

This cool classic, antique Stroughton Bus, manufactured in Stroughton, Wisconsin is on display at the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.

It is a fourteen passenger bus constructed with an all-hardwood framework. The interior consisted of rather large windows that could be lowered for fresh air.
