One of the most accessible lakes for camping, hiking, fishing and water activities is Trillium Lake just a short distance from Mt.Hood in Oregon.
There are many lakes in the Mt.Hood National Forest but Trillium Lake is real easy to get to from the major highway that accesses Mt. Hood. Maybe too easy!
There is a huge campground close to the lake. You'll see tents, RVs and trailers. People from all over the country.
The settings is absolutely gorgeous! My wife and I love to walk around the lake. It's a bit of a jont but a very pleasant hike.
