 A continuation of neighborhood flowers...just spending a Sunday morning wandering around Oregon City, Oregon photographing any plant, flower that's cool.

One of the most amazing photos I took is of a hydroponic flower garden display.  It's located on a huge outside wall, part of a once hydroponic shop, that use to teach the craft but, apparently no longer does.

Neighborhood Flowers

It's fun to travel through various neighborhoods were I live in Oregon City, Oregon and photograph the flowers. There is a lot going on this time of the year flora-wise but, it won't be long before everything dies out.

The photos that are taken here vary from flower gardens to hanging baskets, to giant potted arrangements.  The whole idea is for you to enjoy them!

Our Flower Gardens Part Four

There seems to be no end to taking pictures of flowers in our yard.  My wife and I have eight different flower gardens.


All are pretty good size.  Plus, we have potted plants, hanging baskets all over. There seems to be no end to the planting, watering and the weeding.



It helps keep everybody young.  We love the rewards...the beauty of it all, until all the flowers die out for the year and we go back to the mundane.

The fist photo is of one of our early dahlias...the rest don't come in until late summer.

Flower Gardens Part Three

As mentioned in previous posts, my wife and I have a huge yard with lots of flower gardens.  In fact, maybe too many. Prior Posts:  Flower Gardens Part One    Flower Gardens Part Two.

However, other than trying to keep the workflow in the right direction, you have to sit back and think about the beauty of  the whole thing....the flowers, the plants, the trees.  What would we do without them? 

If we moved to a retirement home, or a condo where you didn't have the facilities to have a vegetable garden, or a flower garden we would probably be bored to tears, or go bonkers.

The first photo is of a "Blanket Flower"...most unusual.  You are seeing mostly dead buds and not the blossoms.  But, what a beautiful plant!

Flower Gardens Part Two

Yesterday, I posted Flower Gardens Part One. Today, a few more flowers that can be found in our yard and in hanging baskets.

We have a combination of both perennials and annuals in our flower gardens. You just have to photograph them when they are in bloom.

Flower Gardens Part One

In our yard we have many varieties of plants and flowers, both perennials and annuals.  So, it's been a goal to photograph them as they bloom.

My wife and I have an absolutely huge yard with many segregated flower gardens, both in the front yard and in back.  Plus, there are numerous hanging baskets.

Flowers In The Yard | Two

I've been posting a lot about flowers lately and that's because most only bloom a short time.  As mentioned in an earlier post...Part One...we personally have a big yard which enables us to have lots and lots of flowers and plants.

The first photo is of an English Rose.  It's extremely fast growing and likes to get into the neighbor's yard.  So, we constantly have to prune it back.

One of the most unusual plants/flowers in our yard are Foxgloves.  We have three plants and every year they become more vibraint.  They call for partial shade and good drainage although ours are in full sun most of the day.
