Outdoor Statues

It's fun to go around a town and photograph the art a place has to offer. And, Long Beach, Washington has a lot of outdoor art to offer.

There are statues, sculptures and wall art...all different mediums.

Although many of the sculptures depict sea life, there are statues of William Clark (think Lewis & Clark) here and there. He lead a separate expedition which had there first encounter with the Pacific Ocean.

Metal Art Sculptures Three

This is the third post featuring the outdoor sculptures at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon. Although, the second item here is from the Carnegie Library site in Oregon City, but the rest are on campus.

Best I can tell, the davenport is made out of cement or, is covered in cement or like material. It looks like the real thing until you touch it. I don't know how they did it!

I took all the photos with a Canon ELPH 300HS. It's a point and shoot and takes super photos and is suitably priced for any budget. (See below)

Metal Art Sculptures Two

I have a lot of fun wondering around Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon and photographing outdoor sculptures.

The other place I go to photograph outdoor sculptures is Lake Oswego...which is across the Willamette River from my home and about five miles away.

However, I think I have more of a fondness for the works at the college. There is some real talent on campus.

I photographed everything on these pages with a Canon Elph 300 HS Point and Shoot (link). It's a cool little pocket camera and the price is right at Amazon!

Metal Art Sculptures

I love to go to Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon...take in, and photograph the beautiful outdoor sculptures they display throughout campus.

Some are permanently on display and others are not. I'm guessing that many are by current and past students.

Outdoor Sculptures - Lake Oswego 4

Lake Oswego, Oregon has to be one of the great "Outdoor Sculpture" capitals of the world. I have photographed numerous sculptures displayed around town and new ones just keep popping up on a very consistent level.

Many are permanent displays. But many of the sculptures are temporarily displayed and feature various outstanding artists. Lake Oswego is an absolute art lover's and photographer's paradise!

Outdoor Sculptures - Lake Oswego

Per capita Lake Oswego, Oregon has to have more outdoor sculptures than anyone out there. At least it seems that way. And, cutting to the chase..."Oregon Art" at it's best!

Everywhere you walk in the downtown area there is art. Tons (literally) of cool outdoor art sculptures and sculpture reliefs. Some metal, some concrete, some other materials, lots of abstracts, some you would want for your yard if you want to pay the piper.

You can drive around Lake Oswego, not getting out of car, and see a lot of the sculptures art. But, you'll miss ninety percent of it.
