For the intrepid "Newport Ramblers" walking group on February 26, 2014...a scheduled 5 to six mile jaunt from the Agate Beach Wayside to the North Jetty along the beach in Newport, Oregon.
All level, all sand and some neat things to look at. You have to look out for high tides, though.
It is a must walk for any walking group! Let's qualify that...a must walk for anyone for enjoyment and to maintain a healthy heart.
You can start from the North Jetty, with access and parking at the Yaquina State Park. Maybe a little easier to find if you are not familiar with Newport.
The first photo is a view from behind a cool rock looking north to Yaquina Head and the Lighthouse which you can barely see.

A photo of the Yaquina Art Association galleries in Nye Beach...the yellow and the closest blue building. The "Polluted" sign says what it means...I don't think you want to swim there.

Below, the "whimsical"
Sylvia Beach Hotel...a must place to visit in Nye Beach. Each of the twenty rooms are unique and are named, themed after a famous author. And, guess what? There are no TVs...or phones.

A sand dune with graffiti galore on a cement wall atop the hill. OK! You can barely see the graffiti in the shot.
