Yaquina Bay Bridge

The Yaquina Bay Bridge on Highway 101 on the Oregon Coast, in Newport is some seventy seven years old. It is one of the most recognizable bridges in Oregon and certainly one of the most photographed.

I shot it from the Historic Bayfront District rather than getting up close and personal. I'll do that in the future..maybe at night.

All photos were taken early in the morning. One shot here is without the bridge in the background.  I photographed that looking into the sun just before it rose.

Waldport Oregon

Waldport, Oregon is sixteen miles south of Newport. It's a cool little community with a little over 2000 folks.

It occupies both sides of Alsea Bay which has a beautiful bridge...a bridge which is a mix of nostalgic and new.

As Oregon Coastal communities go, I wouldn't call it a tourist-type place. Although, there is an interpretive center and some cool shops and, a couple of nice places to eat.
