As the sun sets over the Oregon Coast, the iconic Yaquina Bay Bridge glows beneath a vibrant sky of warm oranges, golds, and cool blues.

This modern coastal artwork blends bold color, expressive textures, and contemporary style to celebrate one of Oregon's most recognizable landmarks.

Inspired by the peaceful beauty of Yaquina Bay, this artwork evokes the calm of evening reflections and the timeless charm of Newport's historic waterfront.

Perfect for coastal homes, beach cottages, offices, and nautical decor, it makes a distinctive gift for Oregon Coast enthusiasts, travelers, and collectors of contemporary landscape art.

Available as canvas prints, framed art, metal prints, acrylics, and more through Fine Art America.

Fishing Fleet In Yaquina Bay

Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast boosts the largest fishing fleet in Oregon. There is easy access and, a fairly tame bar to cross to get to the Pacific Ocean.

Good fishing and crabbing makes for an excellent port for the fisherman. Yaquina Bay and the Yaquina Bay Bridge are in the background.

You can tell by the static crab rings on the boats that crabbing is at a standstill and many boats are in port.

This is a photograph that I have added texture to give a unique painting effect.

Yaquina Bay Kayaking

Yaquina Bay in Newport on the Oregon Coast is home to Oregon's largest fishing fleet.

The Bay is cool! The Yaquina Bay Bridge, in the background  is cool! The fishing boats are cool!

However, what is so unique in this capture is the kayakers! There is a lot of bay to explore and they are on their way to do it!

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range by combining three different exposures, and then incorporating the results into a digital painting.

The Pier And The Seagull

This is a partial capture of a huge fishing pier that extends almost halfway across Yaquina Bay, in Newport on the Oregon Coast.

Folks crab and fish from the pier and usually do very well. On this particular day, there were no fishermen. However, there were two girls that were crabbing and were filling a cooler with Red Rock and Dungeness Crab.

In the background, is the famous Yaquina Bay Bridge built in 1936...an Oregon Landmark!

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range by combining three different exposures, and then incorporating the results into a digital painting.

The Bay

The Bay..."Yaquina Bay" is located in Newport on the Central Oregon Coast. It is home to Oregon's and, probably the west coast's largest fishing fleet.

The fishing boats and the sail boat are caught in an early morning fog with just enough sun peaking through to make for a majestic scene.

It is a short distance to the jetty and to the Pacific Ocean. Commercial fishing and crabbing can be lucrative. However, it is a hard life. But, it is in the blood!

Part of the famous Yaquina Bay Bridge is in the background!

I processed the original capture into a HDR ( High Dynamic Range) photo by combining three different exposures. Next, I converted the image into an unusual digital painting.

Please enjoy!

Underneath The Yaquina Bay Bridge

This capture was made underneath the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport on the Central Oregon Coast.  The bridge spans Yaquina Bay. The view is from South Beach looking north.

It was built in 1936 in the art deco style. It is one of the most recognizable bridges on Route 101 and was designed by Conde McCullough.

Before the bridge was built  the only way to get across the bay was by ferry.

Wild Rose Art

The bank along the Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon is lined with gorgeous wild roses in the springtime. In the background, there is a combination of pleasure boats and fishing boats and, the beautiful Yaquina Bay Bridge.

Off to the right, are some fishermen headed for the Pacific Ocean to try and catch a halibut. The day is overcast and it is about ready to pour.

I converted the capture to High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR) and then applied a special texture called "Image Luminance". It really added a "pop" to the rose bushes.

What is so special is the combination of a nautical scene with a floral scene!

Fishing Fleet Art

The "Little J" is a member of one of the largest fishing fleet in Oregon. She is based in Newport on the Central Oregon Coast.

The morning light is perfect! The Little J is sort of all by herself and, of course cool reflections coming off of her.

In the background is Yaquina Bay and the Bay Bridge. The Coast Guard Station is off to the right, closest to the bridge.

Yaquina Bay Wall Art!

Yaquina Bay is on the Oregon Coast in Newport,Oregon. The setting in the harbor is just after the sun has set. The orange color is striking!

Rather than have the setting sun as a focal point, the Yaquina Bay Bridge and, the boats add phenomenal reflections in the water. The Bay is calm and this just adds a dimension to the image.

The Yaquina Bay Bridge is Oregon's most recognizable bridges! The capture has been converted to a digital painting.

Yaquina Bay and Newport on the Oregon Coast is the home of Oregon's largest fishing fleet.

On this particular day, a lone fishing boat has rounded one of the breakwaters and is headed to the bar and, to the open Pacific.

The Newport Coast Guard Station is off to the right. The famous Yaquina Bay Bridge is in the background!

Bridges Of The World

The Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport on the Oregon Coast is one of the most recognizable bridges in Oregon. It was designed by Conde McCullough and built in the art deco style in 1936.

Mr. McCullough was an American bridge engineer who is famous for designing many of Oregon's coastal bridges on U.S. Route 101. This capture was made early in the morning during the winter where the sun rises in the southeast. There is a orange tinge around parts of the bridge from the sunrise.

In the background is Yaquina Bay and South Beach. You can also make out a pier that juts half way across the Bay...look under the main arch of the bridge. Folks fish and crab from this pier with excellent results.

In the background is the Coast Range. The flat top mountain is Mary's Peak and is some 45 miles away. This magnificent bridge surely qualifies as one of the "Bridges of the World"!

Neon Seascape Art

Yaquina Bay in Newport on the Oregon Coast is home to Oregon's largest fishing fleet. The view is  from South Beach looking toward the bridge and the Historic Bayfront.

This image was converted to a neon presentation giving it a different perspective, an abstract look rather than the normal everyday capture.

It has a "midnight" feel to it...like everything is calm. Take in the reflections in the water. It is very calm and there is very little distortion of the boats in the reflections.

If you would like to explore this image, or others, please see links below!

Newport Mooring

Some random photos of the boat basin, located in South Beach... Newport, Oregon. The Yaquina Bay Bridge is in the background and is one of the most beautiful bridges in Oregon.

Also, it's "A Foggy Day in Newport Town"!

The Rogue Brewery is located in South Beach and is the building off to your left in the first photo. At some later date, I will feature the brewery on my blog...it's cool!

The second photo is the Newport Belle Bed and Breakfast. Currently closed during December and January.

More shots of the Marina and then a couple of shots of the "House of Spirits". A Rogue owned bar that is separate of the main brewery and has a gorgeous view of the bay.

Most of my photography can be purchased through “Fotomoto” (a trusted site) in many different formats and price ranges. Just click one of the links below each photo to see all the options!

Stand Up Paddle Surfing

Never really knew that folks did stand up paddle surfing in Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon. It looks like a blast and, you have to credit the folks that do it...and, looks like they have found the perfect spot for it.

When you first see it you have the impression that they are walking on water...well?

One requirement is a wetsuit...the water is just too cold. After that, besides a board and paddle, has to be "good balance" plus, it would seem,  some lessons on how to do it.

Yaquina Bay Bridge

The Yaquina Bay Bridge on Highway 101 on the Oregon Coast, in Newport is some seventy seven years old. It is one of the most recognizable bridges in Oregon and certainly one of the most photographed.

I shot it from the Historic Bayfront District rather than getting up close and personal. I'll do that in the future..maybe at night.

All photos were taken early in the morning. One shot here is without the bridge in the background.  I photographed that looking into the sun just before it rose.
