If you are a garden afficionado and, you didn't or couldn't go...you missed something very special.

My wife and I have been to garden parties in the Portland Area in past years. The one in Neskowin surpassed them all.

Pacific City Oregon and One Other Place

Some photos of  Pacific City, Oregon and, I sneaked in pics of Neskowin in, too. Both are north of where I live in Newport and, are located in Tillamook County.

Both Pacific City and Neskowin are kind of laid back places. If you are looking for the hustle bustle of New York City...ain't going to happen.

Pacific City is famous for "Haystack Rock" and Dory Fishing...and, "The Pelican Pub And Brewery"...whatever order!

Blue Heron Cheese Factory Tillamook

Most everyone has heard of Tillamook Cheese...it's world famous and the factory is located in, (where else?)...Tillamook, Oregon.

Not far from the Tillamook Cheese Factory, and probably not as well known, is the Blue Heron Wine and French Cheese Company...and, a must place to visit on the Oregon Coast...not far from Portland.

My wife and I live in Newport and decided to take a day trip up the Coast to Tillamook and have lunch at the Heron.

What are you going to have for lunch when you visit a wine and cheese place?

However, Blue Heron is more than a wine and cheese place, it is also has a miniature animal farm and some great old trucks, and such for the kids to enjoy.

My photography here is sort of random but you can get a little idea of what the place is like.

Nye Beach

The Nye Beach District in Newport, Oregon is about one of the nicest beach communities going. It's small and it consists of tremendous people, restaurants and shops...and, a beach that won't wait!

Basically, it's the tourist center of Newport. However, the rain and poor weather keeps the population well below the million mark which, if that happened, would bring chaos to this great community...the ruination of a perfect beach and place. So keep up the poor weather.

The photos here are random and are not really showing "the meat" of the community.  I'm just walking around taking pictures.

Best Beaches

The Nye Beach District in Newport, Oregon is a must place to visit when you come to the Central Oregon Coast. They possess one of the best, most pristine and accessible beaches on the coast not to mention a lot of cool shops, accommodations and restaurants.

Whatever you do, make sure you take a lot of strolls on the beach...you can walk for miles and miles.

Here are some random shots of and around the beach on a gorgeous day...please enjoy!

Stand Up Paddle Surfing

Never really knew that folks did stand up paddle surfing in Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon. It looks like a blast and, you have to credit the folks that do it...and, looks like they have found the perfect spot for it.

When you first see it you have the impression that they are walking on water...well?

One requirement is a wetsuit...the water is just too cold. After that, besides a board and paddle, has to be "good balance" plus, it would seem,  some lessons on how to do it.

Siletz River

Over the weekend I was fortunate to get some shots of the Siletz River on the Central Oregon Coast.
Mainly, it's known for great fishing...salmon, steelhead but, I thought why not try some photography.

I ventured up the Siletz River from Highway 101 all the way to the town of Siletz...a rather curvy journey. Stopped along the way and took some shots with my Pentax Dslr.

Golden Hour was missed and I promised myself to go back during the "Golden Hours" to retake things...anyway, here are some shots:

Siletz River
The above photo is looking back at the bridge on 101 that covers the Siletz. Beyond the bridge is the start of Siletz Bay. The second shot is looking south across the river.

The next two photos were taken at Ichwhit (Bear) Park. I was fortunate enough to capture some nice reflections. The last two are ten miles upstream from Ichwhit.
