Packard Automotive Art

This is a cool 1932 Packard 900 Roadster. Packard sort of took a backseat to other automotive manufactures volume-wise but, the quality of their cars, innovations were superior.

This particular Packard has adjustable shock absorbers that was available by mechanical linkage on the dashboard. Wow!

1939 Classic Packard 120

This is a vintage 1939 Packard photographed at a Concours d'elegance! Every square inch of this beautiful Packard has been restored to perfection.

Packard basically went out of business because they took the time to make an excellent product and, because they bought Studebaker, couldn't get it to compete with Chevrolet and they tanked.

 Just before this model, Packard did away with the floor shifter and moved it to the steering column. You could get "happily involved" with one of these, brand new for about two grand at the time.

Today, a collector might, just might be able to locate a replacement "ash tray" for two grand!

1937 Packard Convertible

Packard was an outstanding luxury automobile produced from 1899 to 1958. Pictured is a 1937 Packard Convertible.

Probably Packard would still be around today if they had not bought Studebaker in the fifties to compete with Chevrolet...a major mistake that put them out of business.

Most folks don't know that Packard outsold Cadillac until about 1950.

This is a 1929 Packard Phaeton restored to perfection! One of the most popular slogan in those days was "Ask The Man Who Owns One"! And, S/B, "Ask The Woman That Owns One, Too"!

Packards were extremely reliable, elegant, powerful, and quality automobiles. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899, and the last in 1958.

This image was originally captured with three different exposures, converted to a High Dynamic Range image and then converted to a digital painting.

1948 Packard Super 8 Touring Sedan

Packard automobiles are among the best luxury cars ever made. At one time, they outsold Cadillac.

Through the years, they were somewhat profitable but, at a point they decided to buy Studebaker to compete with Chevrolet and, that was their demise. Personally, I am more into the older Packards like, 1916 to about 1950 versus the later models.

For the most part, they were classy, well-built and absolutely gorgeous. This great old Packard was featured in a car show on the Oregon Coast.
