Mall Art

The Old Town Mall is located in Bandon, Oregon on the Southern Oregon Coast. It is twenty miles south of Coos Bay.

This capture was made on a Sunday morning when nobody was around. The sun is starting to rise.

The formation of the clouds in the sky and, the sunlight are giving the sky a real different and interesting look. Bandon is one of the neater beach towns on the Oregon Coast.

It has great shopping and restaurants. It has a charm of its own and, lacks the "carnival" atmosphere that some other beach towns have.

Cool Beach Towns In Oregon Two

Still in Lincoln City, on the Oregon Coast, walking down Highway 101 in the early morning while it's pouring down rain. Had the old reliable point and shoot Canon Elph 300 HS with me.

Most of the shots here are random...except for Barnacle Bill's and Deli 101.

Barnacle Bill's is an old staple in Lincoln City...home of a great seafood market...like they have fresh dungeness crab. As long as I can remember and, I'm an old duffer, it's been around. I'm sure it's changed hands a half a dozen times, though.

As far as I know Deli 101 (link) is fairly new, as compared to Barnacle Bill's. I'm going to give the deli a plug.

My wife and I decided to get a deli sandwich to go. Well, there are deli sandwiches and, then there are deli sandwiches. I ordered the "Taby"...it is: turkey breast, avocado, bacon, tomato, cheese, onion. It was a "Bet you can't eat it all!" type sandwich. Actually, a two meal deal and reasonably priced.

My bride ordered the Tarragon Chicken Salad Sandwich and she had to tell him to leave off some of the chicken salad because it was so big. I had my USMC cap on and he gave us a veteran's discount on top of it all.

Lincoln City Two

OK! More pics from Lincoln City, Oregon. If you missed the last post here it is: Lincoln City (link).

As I stated in the first post, Lincoln City is a culmination of six beach towns, back-to-back. It is a very popular vacation spot on the Oregon Coast with lots of hotels, motels and rental homes to choose from, if you decide to visit. Many places allow pets.

Weather-wise it isn't exactly Hawaii during the winter months so, you can get some really good deals on lodging. The beaches are nice and there is some excellent surf fishing on the north beaches for perch.

The first pic was taken real early in the A.M. and, it was raining. Ooh, yeah rain in Oregon is rare! It is of the "Seven Gables" on Highway 101 built in 1922.

The third photo is of a mural on a side of a building on 101. Two are random shots when walking down 101 except the "Dory Cove". If you like seafood, it's the place to go in Lincoln City.
