Restaurant Art

Newport on the Central Oregon Coast has some very cool restaurants. Not just for just great eating but, for being architecturally pleasing and having quaint decor.

Two of these fine restaurants are "Ocean Bleu At Gino's" and "Nana's Irish Pub". I thought it would be interesting to convert them to Digital Impressionist paintings.

Gino's was captured way after everyone had gone home on a busy Sunday night. People were sitting at these outside tables only hours earlier.

Nana's was captured early on a dark Sunday morning.

Restaurant Art (LINK)"Ocean Bleu At Gino's" is a restaurant located on the Historic Bay Front in Newport on the Oregon Coast. It is a combo restaurant and seafood market. It is a colorful place to say the least with all the buoys, signs and flags. In short, it's a beachy place! And, features great seafood. The place is what the beach is all about! Gino's was captured just at the end of "Blue Hour".

Restaurant Art (LINK) Nana's Irish Pub is one of the most popular restaurants in the quaint Nye Beach District in Newport! They have corned beef to die for...especially when they put it on a Reuben! They don't do fat! It's a cool place to eat and drink. They have an outside area that is very popular in nice weather that you can people watch from!

Historic Home Art

This is one of the many beautiful homes located in the Carson City, Nevada Historic District. Most folks visit Nevada to gamble and carry on. 

The Historic District in the State Capital is an absolute must place to visit. Basically, pick a nice day and take in all the beautiful and historic homes...it's a great walking tour!

The tour starts downtown. You can do it on you own or, go on a guided tour.

Historic Home Art

Below is the John M. Moyer House is in Brownsville. No, not that Brownsville...Brownsville, Oregon!

It is right off of I5 between Corvallis and Eugene! It is where "Stand By Me" was filmed although, they refer to it as Castle Rock in the movie.

It is an absolute cool little town where they have restored many of the original, old buildings. The Moyer House which was built in 1881. It is in the "Italianate" style architecture.

A tour was made of the home and it is absolutely gorgeous! In 1974 the Moyer House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. This image has been processed into a High Dynamic Range photo and then converted to a digital painting.

Train Station Art

This neat little train station, located in Oregon City, Oregon is the last stop as you head to Portland and points north to Seattle via Amtrak. Also, you can catch the train heading south to Eugene and beyond. 

What caught my eye about the train depot is the nostalgic architecture. They have mixed the old train depot buildings with the new.

The yellow and brown shelter here dates back decades. But, of course has been remodeled.

This image was made using three different exposures and combining/converting those into a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photo.

Mall Art

The Old Town Mall is located in Bandon, Oregon on the Southern Oregon Coast. It is twenty miles south of Coos Bay.

This capture was made on a Sunday morning when nobody was around. The sun is starting to rise.

The formation of the clouds in the sky and, the sunlight are giving the sky a real different and interesting look. Bandon is one of the neater beach towns on the Oregon Coast.

It has great shopping and restaurants. It has a charm of its own and, lacks the "carnival" atmosphere that some other beach towns have.

Crab Shack Wall Art

Bandon,Oregon is home to Tony's Crabshack on the Oregon Coast! It's small, crowded and has seafood to die for! And, it is close to the Pacific Ocean and the beach! Tony's is the "beach"!

This capture was made on a very early Sunday morning...no tourist around. The image was converted into High Dynamic Range Photography or, HDR.

If you are looking for a great Seafood Cocktail, Tony's has great choices: Ocean Shrimp, Dungeness Crab, Oyster, Crab and Shrimp Combo and Wild Prawn. For soups they have fresh New England Style Clam Chowder or, Cioppino to die for.

Of course, they have an array of delectable seafood salads. And, then there are the Seafood Pastas like: Smoked Salmon Alfredo, Scampi Montezuma and Steamer Clams or Prawns. However, it doesn't end there!

Coast Guard City USA Wall Art

The "Coast Guard City" designation was established by Congress in 1998 to recognize cities where the United States Coast Guard are located. In order to qualify for that distinction, that city has to show support for Coast Guard personnel stationed there.

The particular Coast Guard City USA,  shown here is in my home town of Newport on the Central Oregon Coast. Newport boasts the biggest fishing fleet in Oregon.

Fisherman go out in the Pacific Ocean in all weather conditions and times. They value the support they get, very whole heartily from the Coast Guard. Especially, when they should get into trouble at sea.

The job of the Coast Guard can be extremely dangerous in high sea rescues. This image has been converted to a digital painting!

Yaquina Bay Wall Art!

Yaquina Bay is on the Oregon Coast in Newport,Oregon. The setting in the harbor is just after the sun has set. The orange color is striking!

Rather than have the setting sun as a focal point, the Yaquina Bay Bridge and, the boats add phenomenal reflections in the water. The Bay is calm and this just adds a dimension to the image.

The Yaquina Bay Bridge is Oregon's most recognizable bridges! The capture has been converted to a digital painting.
