Boardwalk Art

The scene is Bandon, Oregon...very early morning and, it is dark out!  The Coquille River is at low tide and the boat ramp, off to the right, unusable.

The cool boardwalk is an outdoor art gallery with a unique, beautiful collection of  marine life wooden sculptures, a mosaic outdoor amphitheater and, cool artisan benches along the way.

Also, on the boardwalk, is Tony's Crab Shack. It is the blue and reddish colored building with some of the best seafood on the Oregon Coast...think Dungeness Crab!

Almost in the center of this image, is a glass-sided picnic shelter allowing picnicking and river viewing during downpours. Beyond is the Pacific Ocean. It's not too far away!

You can purchase the below images in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases, beach. please see the links below these images and /or the slide shows below and, on the left side bar!

You can't see the Pacific Ocean in the background but, you can see the light on the horizon. Also, off to the right you can see the Coquille River Lighthouse. There is no breeze, so Old Glory is not flying. Take a look at the wonderful curves in the walkway along the marina. Bandon has a small marina and there are not too many fishing boats moored there. However, Bandon is an excellent place to go out of to fish in the ocean. The two near buildings are a restaurant to your left and the smaller building is a fishing charter service.

Mall Art

The Old Town Mall is located in Bandon, Oregon on the Southern Oregon Coast. It is twenty miles south of Coos Bay.

This capture was made on a Sunday morning when nobody was around. The sun is starting to rise.

The formation of the clouds in the sky and, the sunlight are giving the sky a real different and interesting look. Bandon is one of the neater beach towns on the Oregon Coast.

It has great shopping and restaurants. It has a charm of its own and, lacks the "carnival" atmosphere that some other beach towns have.

Red Chair Wall Art

Along the street, in Bandon's Old Town on the Oregon Coast sits these four red chairs. You are looking west and, near the end of the main street.

Bandon, Oregon is on the Southern Oregon Coast. It easily has the most pristine beaches you will ever run across...devoid of a bunch of people, pollution, noise and, whatever!

The town of Bandon, itself is pristine! The Old Town area, where the red chairs were captured is cool with superb shops, restaurants.

It is during the week and it is about ready to rain so, the tourist are not around. Everything is peaceful! This image has been converted to a digital painting.

Bandon - Beach Towns At Night

The post on Bandon, Oregon early on was Bandon in the wee hours of the morning.  It may not look like it in some cases, but the following photos are Bandon from about 9:30 until 11 pm at night.

Bandon is not a party town and that is just fine with me.  Except for a couple of Pubs, things slow down to dead.

I included a photo of part of the Boardwalk which I think rivals any boardwalk anywhere.  I oversaturated the shot because it accented the Seahorse...and the art that is attached to the railing, with the latter done by school age children.

The first photo here is a first-class covered, glassed-in picnic area on the Boardwalk.  The second, an upstairs restaurant. The third, a mall and eating place and the fourth a sport fishing place.

Bullards Beach State Park

Bullards Beach State Park is situated across the Coquille River from Bandon, Oregon to the North.  If you look across the river from Bandon, it looks like a "piece of cake" to get to.

It would be if you went by boat.  By car, it's a bit of a drive to enter the park and get to the west end of the Park and to the Coquille River Lighthouse and beach.

The Park itself is huge.  If you want to hike...this is it! If you want to camp...this is it! If you want to ride horses...this is it! If you want to beachcomb...this is it!

I took photos of the camping area and some of the nature trails but I decided not to post them here.

Many folks think that the Coquille River Lighthouse is a working lighthouse.  Surprise, surprise, surprise! It is an empty lighthouse and has been for many decades.

Some Beach Scenes Around Bandon

Oregon has beautiful beaches.  Most are pristine and sometimes you will find that you are the only one on one.

This can be confirmed should you ever venture to this great State and travel the coastline from Astoria to Brookings.

I am posting a few beach scenes here so you get the idea.  All photos were taken in or around Bandon on different days and times.

The second photo is very dark.  That's because that shot was taken in a bit of a squall...sunset and all.

Some beach scenes for your enjoyment!

Beach Towns In Oregon

There are beach towns that are booming, overfilled with people, and overall not real cool places to be if you want solitude. But, if you are seeking peace and solitude there is no better place to be than in Bandon, Oregon.

Bandon is fairly close to California and a neat place for folks to come to and retire or to just visit.  It is hardly a destination for college kids on spring break to decend upon.

In general, the beaches are pristine, and that is an understatement...you'll be hard pressed to find any footprints in the sand even.

Most of the photos here are converted to High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR).  All this means is that three photos are taken of the same thing at different exposure values and converted into one pic through special software.

They have a super cool boardwalk, which is the fourth pic down.  I'll show more of it later.

The pics here were taken very early on a Sunday morning, a tad after 5:15 AM , and a little later before folks were up.

Bandon is home of the Oregon Islands and you'll see those in future posts.
