Fishing Fleet Art

The "Little J" is a member of one of the largest fishing fleet in Oregon. She is based in Newport on the Central Oregon Coast.

The morning light is perfect! The Little J is sort of all by herself and, of course cool reflections coming off of her.

In the background is Yaquina Bay and the Bay Bridge. The Coast Guard Station is off to the right, closest to the bridge.

Sternwheeler Art

This is the Newport (Oregon) Belle, a floating Bed and Breakfast moored in South Beach on Yaquina Bay on the Oregon Coast! It is a sternwheeler riverboat specifically designed as a Bed & Breakfast Inn.

It was constructed in 1993 and is Coast Guard Certified although, they do not move the the riverboat from its mooring. It is usually closed during the winter months but, a very cool place to stay during the spring, summer and fall tourist season. Very unique!

F/V Sylvia

The setting is Yaquina Bay in Newport on the Oregon Coast. I was able to capture the F/V (Fishing Vessel) Sylvia all by herself.

This is sort of an interesting story. In February of 2014, the F/V (Fishing Vessel) Sylvia was at sea and reported taking on water, that her pumps could not stay ahead of the leak and the Coast Guard went to the rescue.

However, the crew of the Sylvia were able to fire up an additional pump which helped the situation immensely. The Coast Guard installed yet another pump, got the water level down and patched the leak. The boat made it back to port safely!
