1930 Ford V8 Model A Hot Rod

A  Model A Ford Convertible Hot Rod is in pristine condition.

Of course, many modifications have been made to it since it was originally manufactured but, all for the better!  You could have purchased this fine roadster for around $1400 in 1930. Today, that might get you the tires!

This capture was made at a very busy car show! Any photographer will tell you that is is very difficult to photograph at car shows because of people, and usually some type of signage.

To be blunt, I was lucky to get this shot!

Hot Rodders refer the to Model  As as A-Bones. The Model A was Ford's number two success after the previous Model T.

The logic is kind of funny here...Model A following Model T...maybe should have been a "B' rather than "T".

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures to give the image more detail and color.

1953 Chevy 3100 Pickup

This 1953 Chevy 3100 Pickup was featured at a car show in Toledo, Oregon which is not too far from Newport on the Oregon Coast.

For all appearances, the truck was redone to look like new. It was pretty stock looking except for wheels and a painted grill...which looks just fine.

Apparently, the original windshield went from a spit to one piece. A truck like this has a real nostalgic feel. There is no other way to say it!

This image has been converted to High Dynamic Range (HDR) by combining three different exposures, and then incorporating the results into a digital painting.

Retro Flying A

This is an interior of an old Flying A Service Station that probably dates back to the sixties . Today it doesn't sell gas or provide service (Remember when gas stations provided service).

It remains as a motorcycle accessory outlet and as a museum displaying all sorts of nostalgic things from years past. It's just a fun place!

I had a lot of fun photographing it. The owner was very accommodating.

Train Depot Art

This is a cool little railroad station in Garibaldi, Oregon on the Northern Oregon Coast.

The railroad station is one of the stops for the "Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad". Other stops include:  Tillamook, Rockaway Beach, Wheeler, Nehalem Bay, and Salmonberry, Oregon.

During the late spring and summer months you can ride the rail behind a historic, nostalgic, old-fashioned Steam Locomotive. This scenic trip chugs along Tillamook Bay and gives you a nice view of the Bay and the ocean.

This image has been converted to a digital painting.

37 Ford Roadster Art

Put the top down and cruise the boulevard in this pristine 1937 Ford Convertible! When this automobile came out, you could have purchased it in the seven hundred dollar range.

Now days, if you wanted to purchase one this nice it would probably be in the seventy thousand dollar range! Anyway, you can get a print of this classic on my website a lot cheaper!

Woolen Mill Wall Art

The scene is the old Thomas Kay Woolen Mill  (now called Mission Mills) in Salem, Oregon. It is an historic textile mill that goes back to 1898.

Although, the mill has long ceased production this is a demo where they are getting threads ready for the loom. This scene is long gone! The machinery is gone!

The floor space where this sat has been converted into a meeting room. Such is life!

The Thomas Kay Woolen Mill produced fine wool blankets and fabrics for 70 years. The Mill transformed raw Willamette Valley wool into fabric and blankets which were well known throughout the West.

It was the only woolen mill museum west of Missouri. This image has been converted into a digital painting!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases, beach. please see the link below this image and /or the slide shows below and, on the left side bar!

1935 Auburn Speedster 866

Along with the Cord Automobile, in the 1930's was another striking design and that was the Auburn Boattail Speedster 866.  It was powered by a 4.6 liter straight eight that, with a supercharger option could top 100 mph.

Now days that may not be a big hoop-de-do but, in those days it was earth shattering!  This particular Auburn was featured many years ago at a Concours d'Elegance in Oregon.

It was an absolutely gorgeous car. This image has been converted to a digital image!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases, beach towels. Please see the link below this image and /or the slide shows below and, on the left side bar!

1929 Graham - Paige 612

In 1927, the three Graham brothers purchased the Paige-Detroit Motor Company, makers of Paige and Jewett automobiles. They had major success racing cars and they had a reputation for making quality vehicles.

The Graham-Paige shown here is one of them! It is a roadster that has been immaculately restored.

I photographed this at the Concours d'Elegance in Forest Grove, Oregon many years ago. The image has been converted to High Dynamic Range Photography to bring out more color and detail.

I then converted the image to a digital painting!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases, beach. please see the link below this image and /or the slide shows below and, on the left side bar!

Long Bell

These signs are located in an architectural place in Oregon. All the signs and props in the photograph are vintage era.

There is a little of everything...like the old railroad crossing sign, Oregon license plates, Latrobe Industrial Supply sign and, even a "Bar X Range" sign.

Of course, there is an old airplane propeller. Also, check out the old scale sitting on the cabinet! This image has been converted to a digital painting!

School Bus Days

This is an old school bus photographed in Astoria, on the Oregon Coast that is well past its prime. It was located in a wrecking yard.

It looks to be a circa 1956 Chevrolet Vintage School bus. Judging by the license plate (tags say "June 1975") it lasted some twenty years as a school bus.

I went back to the wrecking yard a few years after this was first photographed and it was gone. This image has been converted to a digital painting!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases. please see the link below this image!

1932 Waco Biplane

Put on your silk scarf, leather helmet and goggles and fly away in this 1932 Waco Biplane! This is one cool, affordable (in 1932) aircraft built for the casual user.

The artistry and detailing of this Waco is amazing! It had a lot of baggage capacity for the traveler... and, no extra charge for bags like some of those other folks try to hang on you!

You can purchase this image in a variety of ways, wall art, life style, apparel, greeting cards, home decor, phone cases, beach. please see the link below this image and /or the slide shows below and, on the left side bar!

Old Churches - Doyle, California

This small and old historic church is located in Doyle, California. It is near the Nevada border in the northern part of the State.

I searched for history on the Doyle Church but didn't find much.  However, there is little doubt that this is a 1800's vintage church that looks fairly well taken care of.

If you are wondering, Doyle has a population of 678 folks. Tired of the overpopulated big city? Want to get a way?

If you would like to explore this image, or others, please see links below!
