Fishing Fleet In Yaquina Bay

Newport, Oregon on the Central Coast boosts the largest fishing fleet in Oregon. There is easy access and, a fairly tame bar to cross to get to the Pacific Ocean.

Good fishing and crabbing makes for an excellent port for the fisherman. Yaquina Bay and the Yaquina Bay Bridge are in the background.

You can tell by the static crab rings on the boats that crabbing is at a standstill and many boats are in port.

This is a photograph that I have added texture to give a unique painting effect.

Cool Automotive Art

This classic roadster, aptly named the "Red Bell" was featured at a car show in Newport, Oregon. It is an absolutely gorgeous car.

Automobiles like this are from another time, that sadly we will never see again! So, dream a little and motor on down the road in the "Red Bell"!

This image was converted into an Impressionist painting!

Covered Bridge Art

This is the Weddle Bridge in Sweet Home, Oregon. It is a 120 foot long wooden covered bridge.

The original bridge was built in 1937 and, rebuilt in 1990. The bridge originally spanned Thomas Creek.

In 1989, a Sweet Home group rebuilt the Weddle Bridge across Ames Creek in Sankey Park.

I combined a High Dynamic Range image with an unusual texture to give it a painted look. At one time Oregon had more covered bridges than any state west of the Mississippi!

Woolen Mill Wall Art

The scene is the old Thomas Kay Woolen Mill  (now called Mission Mills) in Salem, Oregon. It is an historic textile mill that goes back to 1898.

Although, the mill has long ceased production this is a demo where they are getting threads ready for the loom. This scene is long gone! The machinery is gone!

The floor space where this sat has been converted into a meeting room. Such is life!

The Thomas Kay Woolen Mill produced fine wool blankets and fabrics for 70 years. The Mill transformed raw Willamette Valley wool into fabric and blankets which were well known throughout the West.

It was the only woolen mill museum west of Missouri. This image has been converted into a digital painting!

The Pink Peony

The peony is a flowering plant native to Asia, Southern Europe and Western North America. This particular Peony was grown at the Adelman Peony Gardens in Salem, Oregon.

Adelmans have some twenty acres of award-winning Peonies, featuring nearly 250 varieties. They are among America's leading Peony growers.

Also, they have been judged "Best of Show" by the  American Peony Society for eight years out of thirteen. They ship Peonies around the world. Peonies are extremely robust and, just plain beautiful!

Peonies come just about every color under the rainbow! This image has been converted to a digital painting!
